Caherass Nursing Home

Caherass Nursing home is a luxury purpose built 2-storey Home, set on a landscaped 2-acre site, in a picturesque rural setting just outside the village of Croom and Adare.

Just 11 miles from Limerick City the easily accessible N20 ensures that Caherass Nursing Home is only a 15-20 minute drive from most parts of Limerick.

The home is part of the Irish owned Mowlam Health Care, providing superior care for all its residents at homes located throughout the country. Mowlam Healthcare, together with the Caherass management, recognise the need for services of the highest quality and are dedicated to providing this care and more.

A bright sunny dining room provides an opportunity for socialising or meals can be served in rooms if requested.

Three lounges have wide screen TVs and one lounge can be used for reading or card games. Outside is a landscaped garden with paths for residents to exercise and enjoy the rural scenery.

Caherass has 48 private, luxury ensuite rooms and one double ensuite room. There are four well-equipped bathrooms with bath and shower facilities.

All long-term residents are welcome to bring their own favourite items of furniture with them to ensure they feel more at home.

Each room has a TV socket, telephone, night-light, call bell and thermostatically controllable radiators. Corridors and bedrooms are carpeted throughout and handrails are provided on all corridors for added safety.

Smoking is confined to a smoke room to ensure the safety of all our residents.

The Caherass Care Team The nursing home is run by a manager, deputy manager and a team of full and part time professional caring staff. This committed and caring team is dedicated to providing the highest quality care, over a 24hour period, to each and every resident of Caherass Nursing Home. On-going training is completed both internally and externally by qualified staff.

Entertainment

A sing-along session with our local musician takes place every Monday afternoon, Mass is celebrated weekly, Bingo takes place on Fridays, and our activity therapist completes her twice-weekly passive exercise program with manicures for the ladies. Local musicians and entertainers also visit and card games, such as 45 and bridge, take place regularly.

Residents who wish to seek peace and tranquillity in their rooms may do so undisturbed.

Security The welfare of our residents is of paramount importance and to ensure their safety, security alarms have been fitted to all external doors, alerting staff to all movements of residents and visitors. The front door is also coded for security reasons.

The car park and rear of the Nursing Home are floodlit at night and Croom Gardai regularly visit the premises.

Services Our professional catering team design menus to suit all tastes and cater for special dietary requirements.

Only the freshest local produce are purchased daily and cooked in our state of the art kitchen. Snacks are served throughout the day and evening to ensure adequate nutrition and hydration. A daily shopping service is provided, newspapers are delivered, letters are posted, toiletries are purchased and dry cleaning is collected regularly.

Other professional services provided include hairdressing in our in-house salon every Thursday. A Physiotherapist and Chiropodist also visit regularly, on request.

Residents are welcome to retain the services of their own GP or avail of the Nursing Home's Doctor who visit's 3-4 times a week, and more often if necessary.
