Ballincollig Community Nursing Unit is located in Ballincollig Town Centre, Co Cork, on Murphy's Barracks Road, beside the GAA pitch.

Ballincollig Community Nursing Unit is a state of the art building designed with residents' care, comfort, enjoyment, security and convenience in mind. Landscaped grounds and internal courtyard gardens are available for our residents enjoyment.

Ballincollig Community Nursing Unit is owed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) and operated by Mowlam Healthcare.

Ballincollig is a 100 bed home equipped with all the modern facilities one would expect. It has a wide range of leisure and specially designed activities, including: card games, bingo, musical sessions, passive exercises to music, ball games, movies and much more. Quieter rooms for reading, chatting or reminiscencing with friends are also very popular at Ballincollig.

Residents' home-from-home bedrooms offer private ensuite, or shared occupancy for those preferring company. Each room has a nurse call system and access to multi channel TV.

The home has an open visiting policy, visitors and family are always very welcome.

The Ballincollig Care Team

The Nursing Unit is run by a Director of Nursing, supported by Clinical Nurse Managers, staff nurses, trained care assistants, chef, catering staff and housekeeping staff, all of whom are dedicated and committed to providing a superior standard of care.

Our carefully chosen team are experienced, professionally qualifi ed and undergo continuous training.

We respect our residents' right to dignity, individuality, religious beliefs, independence, privacy and the choice to participate in individual or communal in-house activities.

We provide 24 hour GP cover and can arrange additional service care to meet specific personal needs.

Our professional catering team prepare nutiritious appetising homemade menus, to suit all tastes, with a choice of main course every day. Morning snacks, afternoon tea/coffee, and evening snacks are also served. All our catering facilities are fully HACCP compliant and only the freshest ingredients are used. All dietary requirements including special diets, diverse cultural preferences and personal choices are accommodated.

Personal Service

We offer a wide range of personal services such as dental and oral hygiene, activity therapy, diet, speech and language therapy, chiropody, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Smoking is confined to a designated smoking room to ensure the safety and comfort of all our residents.

CCTV cameras enable the monitoring and maintenance of a safe secure environment for all our residents. Alarms have been fitted to all external doors.
